Connection, with intention.

Work Friends exists to make space for something that has quietly disappeared from modern work: close, supportive professional relationships built over time, in person, with people who actually understand what you do and where you are going.

Through focused programming and personal introductions, we offer a service for people who value depth over volume and relationships over reach. People who want their work lives to feel more human, more connected, and more sustainable.

Safe to show up honestly

While some professionals easily share news, challenges, and achievements on social media or in lively communities, many prefer to keep theirs private. It's common to make assumptions about a colleague's feelings based on their title, seniority, or social media presence. However, through countless conversations and unexpected connections, we’ve learned that there’s often much more beneath the surface.

That’s why we focus on fostering relationships rather than promoting thought leadership. Think of our platform as the happy hour after a panel discussion, not the panel itself. We accomplish this through open and honest communication. You tell us what you’re seeking (whether it’s collaborators, mentors, or friends) and we match you with folks whose capacity, relevance and interest aligns.

Gatherings themed around goals

We collaborate with partners to bring together focused groups of professionals with ties to marketing, media, and entertainment. Examples include gatherings for entrepreneurs, content creators and professionals in the midst of a career transition.

While sometimes we organize larger events and smaller scale get-togethers, our primary offering is a series of themed workshops that blend structured programming with plenty of time to mingle. We keep these gatherings intimate - around 30 people per event - intentionally designing them to foster meaningful connections. Each gathering is invite-only or curated via open registration, depending on the format. Example themes include:

  • Personal Branding

  • Managing Stress and Preventing Burnout

  • Maximizing Impact on and off Social Media

  • Navigating Creator-Brand Partnerships

  • Aligning with Values

  • Career Pivots

High standards, low cost

Our partners help us offer premium experiences accessible to professionals who work for themselves, may be in between jobs or lack an L&D budget. Most of our gatherings are free to attend, and in exchange we expect participants to attend when they commit, communicate if plans change, and engage thoughtfully and respectfully. We welcome interactive discussions and audience participation, as each invited guest has valuable perspective to offer.

These shared expectations help create a positive experience for everyone.
