About the event

Interested in a change of scenery and an opportunity to expand your network? Welcome to Break Room, a series designed to foster community amongst mid-senior level professionals in marketing, media, and entertainment.

We offer structured programming, casual co-working, and a meal. Folks are welcome to stop by for an hour or stay all day. If you need to step out for a call or meeting, no problem - we’ll be here.

Break Room on October 17th will be geared towards marketers that work at or on behalf of brands. The structured portion of our programming will address two themes, outlined below:

Session 1: Team Building & Leadership in Remote & Hybrid Environments

Taking on a leadership role has always come with challenges, but in today’s cultural climate, there are seemingly endless new factors to navigate between introducing AI into systems and processes, having a social media presence, managing decentralized teams, and maintaining a respectful and inclusive work environment. In this panel, we’ve invited marketing leaders to share insights into their processes and challenges for team building and leading in 2025.

Speakers include:

Dale Edman, VP of eCommerce & Shopper Marketing at Lipton Teas

Erika Burghardt, VP of Growth at 1440

DJ Watta, VP of Digital & Influencer Strategy at Golin

Session 2: Managing Expectations in an Always On Work Culture

In a world where we are more connected than ever, one of the most important skills is communicating when we are not available. It’s unrealistic and unhealthy for professionals to always be on, yet so many of us are expected to be. The purpose of this discussion will be to explore the best ways to establish expectations and clearly set boundaries around our work and availability.

Speakers include:

Kirby Kennedy, Social Media Manager - Strategy & Influencer Management at Sargento

Sourma Khoury, Director, Brand Influencer Marketing at Fanatics

Bryan Greenberg, Marketing Producer at Astra Logical
