Water Cooler Guidelines

Thanks for your interest in joining us on Slack!

We created the Water Cooler for freelancers and solopreneurs to talk shop with peers, connect with folks they meet at Work Friends events, find collaborators, and make up for some of the camaraderie lost without an office environment. The main intention behind this channel is to enable friendships, collaborations, and for professionals to prop each other up. With that in mind, we've developed the following guidelines:  â€‹

1. Be kind, courteous, and respectful.

No hate speech or bullying of any kind will be tolerated, and will result in immediate removal from community digital channels and events.

2. Be mindful of what you share publicly.

While you are welcome to vent and share frustrations you are facing in your work, be discerning in how you do so and remember that there is no guarantee of privacy. - In a digital forum, anything you say could be misinterpreted and shared with someone unintended.

3. No public or private unsolicited selling or public requesting to be connected to cold contacts.

Members of the group may introduce themselves and their business upon joining the group and may respond to requests for recommendations. Beyond that folks may not directly post in the channels looking for leads, contacts, or work opportunities. The purpose of the community is for the individuals within it to build relationships with each other. As you get to know each other, you may privately make introductions as you see fit.

4. Acceptable Use Policy
